Citing information provided by a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation, the Dallas Morning News? website is reporting that Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent had a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit ? 0.18 ? when he crashed his 2007 Mercedes early Saturday, killing teammate Jerry Brown.

Brent, 25, is free on $500,000 after Irving police charged him with intoxication manslaughter. The Cowboys placed him on the reserve/non-football illness list Wednesday and filled his roster spot by signing a free-agent defensive tackle.

A spokesman for the Irving Police Department said Wednesday that investigators may present the evident they have in the case to the Dallas County District Attorney?s Office as soon as Thursday.
